BIOGRAPHY

Robbie grew up on a cattle ranch near Islay, a hamlet barely west of the Saskatchewan border, and has lived in Turner Valley, Lloydminster, Kitscoty and Edmonton, where he is today. He studied English and creative writing at the University of Alberta and somehow wandered into journalism, publishing and copywriting.

His writing has appeared in Eighteen BridgesAvenue Edmonton, Alberta Oil and a slew of small Alberta magazines. He was formerly associate editor at Alberta Venture magazine, where he wrote about rural issues like agriculture, drought and horse racing. His stories "The End of the Line" and “High Society” were excerpted in Alberta Views.

An occasional songwriter, between 2014 and 2017 he released three singles and an EP, No Frontier, on the Vancouver label Sensing Waves.
